My favorite way to explore a new city is to walk around it. Sometimes Tanner & I will start with one area or neighborhood in mind, but from there we’ll start walking the streets, taking in the look & feel of a place & see what we discover along the way. In New Orleans, it was no different. We began our time with a quick look at a map & a short drive to get an overall feel of the city & from there picked a spot & started walking – found some great restaurants & shops with some surprises along the way. Here are some of my favorite images from our walks about town.

I loved riding the streetcar in the rain. I wish Atlanta had such cool public transportation!

It rained every single day we were in New Orleans, but I felt like it gave the city a very romantic vibe (though it didn’t help the humidity at all!)

Esplanade was one of my favorite streets in the French Quarter. I loved the old houses & ancient arching trees.

All over the city I found these old posts where people tied up their horses back in the day. I kinda loved them…

What do you think of that funky bike rack? Pretty sweet, if you ask me!![]()

I also love the experience of exploring a city at night. It can be so fun to walk the streets, see the shimmering lights of the city and discover how a city transforms from day to night.
Stay tuned for my last post from NOLA featuring the gorgeous Lanaux Mansion!

New Orleans is one of my favorite cities ever. So much rich culture. You captured it well
